The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem,
announces an external selection procedure for the position of an academic staff member at the Department of Pre-primary and Primary Education.
Position/Field/Number of vacancies:
1 position of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor
Job description / Responsibilities:
The applicant is expected to teach and guarantee study courses focused on Czech Language and Literature for Primary Education, supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses, develop pedagogical, research, and publication activities, and possibly develop international activities and projects in the field of pedagogy.
Qualification requirements:
University degree in Czech Language and Literature or Primary School Teaching. An advantage is completed or ongoing doctoral studies (Ph.D.), or ongoing or completed habilitation or appointment procedures in the field.
Workload: 1.0 FTE
Expected start date: 2 February 2026
Workplace: Department of Pre-primary and Primary Education, Faculty of Education, UJEP in Ústí nad Labem

The selection procedure will take place in person. The applicant will briefly present their professional background and outline their vision for the position. The selection will be based on the applicant’s academic rank, their creative/scientific activities, and the presentation of their proposed vision.
