The Dean of the Faculty of Science of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem invites applications for the position of Academic Staff Member with a focus on ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY.

Requirements:
- a professional focus on meteorology and climatology is preferred; hydrology is also welcome, as are related fields
- completed or ongoing doctoral studies in a relevant field are an advantage; applicants may have an educational background in either natural sciences or engineering
- the position includes teaching activities (basic, methodological and regional disciplines in environmental/physical geography, as well as applied disciplines in environmental planning), supervision of students’ theses, scientific research and publication activities, and participation in outreach activities and the operation of the department. The specific scope and arrangement of work activities will be subject to mutual discussion
Employment level: 50–100% of the statutory working hours
Expected start date: January 2027

Information on the selection procedure and selection criteria:
The selection procedure will consist of a first round based on an assessment of the submitted application materials, which must be included with the application, and, if applicable, a second round involving an in-person or remote interview with selected applicants. All applicants will be informed of the outcome no later than 30 days after the conclusion of the selection procedure.
