The Dean of the Faculty of Science at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem invites applications for the position of Academic Staff Member in Environmental/Physical Geography.

Requirements

• Specialization in meteorology and climatology is preferred; however, applicants with related areas of expertise are also welcome.
• At least enrolment in a doctoral (Ph.D.) programme in the relevant field.
• The position includes:
  • teaching activities (introductory, methodological and regional courses in environmental/physical geography, as well as applied courses in environmental planning),
  • supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses,
  • scientific research and publication activities,
  • participation in outreach activities and in the organization and administration of the department.

Employment Details

• Workload: Full-time (100% of the statutory working hours)
• Expected start date: September 2026, or January 2027 by agreement

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure will consist of:

1. An initial evaluation of the submitted application materials.
2. If applicable, a second round consisting of an in-person or online interview with shortlisted candidates.
