The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem announces a selection procedure for the position of Technology Transfer Assistant

Position/Field of Activity: Technology Transfer Assistant

Job Description

  • Providing methodological and professional support for the transfer of research, development, and innovation results into practical applications.
  • Identifying and analysing research results with commercialization potential or other practical applications.
  • Cooperating with research teams in developing strategies for the protection and exploitation of research results.
  • Preparing expert analyses focused on technology trends, innovation potential, and opportunities for the application of research results.
  • Assisting in the preparation of professional studies, reports, methodological materials, presentations, and other outputs.
  • Supporting the transfer of research results in the fields of digitalization, industrial automation, and Industry 4.0.
  • Evaluating technical solutions and software tools developed within research projects.
  • Assisting in the development, testing, validation, and practical implementation of prototype solutions.

Qualification Requirements

  • University degree (Master’s or Ph.D.). Applicants with limited professional experience are welcome (up to six years after graduation).
  • Independence, reliability, excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate to advanced level (minimum B2);Czech at a minimum B2 level (CEFR)
  • Valid Category B driving licence.
  • Clean criminal record.

Professional Knowledge

Programming and Software

  • Object-oriented programming (C#, .NET)
  • Knowledge of Git
  • Design of desktop or web applications
  • REST API and inter-system communication
  • Debugging and log analysis
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity

Database Systems

  • SQL (MariaDB, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)

Technical Knowledge

  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Basic electrical engineering
  • Industrial communication
  • Modbus TCP/RTU
  • Profinet
  • OPC UA

Employment Details

  • Workload: 0.5–1.0 FTE
