Department of Environmental Chemistry and Technology

The Centre for Advanced Analytical Techniques (CAAT) provides the technological facilities of the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Technology at the Faculty of the Environment, UJEP. We are a key partner for excellent science as well as for cooperation with the application sector. Thanks to recent modernisation, we have unique analytical equipment that ranks us among leading research centres. We address many current topics such as plastic and textile recycling, or the determination of pollutants such as microplastics or PFAS in the environment. We are looking for a motivated colleague who is eager to contribute to laboratory operations, work on prestigious projects, and grow professionally.

Job description:

  • Performing chemical analyses and experiments in a modern analytical laboratory
  • Maintenance and care of assigned laboratory instruments (maintenance, calibration, preparation) and ensuring laboratory operations
  • Processing and evaluating experimental results
  • Close cooperation with academics and students
  • Participation in prestigious national and international research projects
  • Cooperation with major Czech and international partners from the application sector
  • Sharing expertise with students during laboratory practicals

Requirements:

  • Completed university degree (Mgr./Ing.) in chemistry (analytical, organic), chemical technology, or a related field
  • Practical experience with laboratory equipment (experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, or other instrumental methods is a major advantage)
  • Documented laboratory experience
  • Basic knowledge of English (ability to communicate with international students and staff)
  • Computer literacy and ability to process data
  • Precision, independence, and good teamwork skills
  • Category B driving licence
