Evaluation Methodologist and Data Analyst

Number of vacancies/Position/Field of activity: 1, Evaluation Methodologist and Data Analyst (project position)

 

Main activities and areas of responsibility:
The position combines professional methodological work in the field of internal evaluation of scientific and research activities at UJEP with the activities of a data analyst within the project for the implementation of the Strategy for the Evaluation of Creative Activity (KA02). The main activities are:

Methodological component

  • co-creation of a strategy for the internal evaluation of the quality of science and research at UJEP
  • cooperation on the design of a methodology for the evaluation of creative activities, including the creation of decision-making materials
  • organization and methodological guidance of educational activities
  • communication with faculty management, vice-deans for science, members of research teams, and other entities involved in the evaluation
  • participation in the pilot evaluation in 2027 and preparation of final reports
  • involvement in the revision of UJEP strategic documents based on the results of the evaluation.

Analytical component

  • preparation and processing of data for the purposes of evaluating research and creative activities (especially bibliometric and project outputs)
  • cooperation with the scientific library in creating materials for bibliometric analysis
  • creation of data reports and visualizations (e.g., at the level of faculties, scientific areas, and subject groups)
  • preparation of analyses for benchmarking with other institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad
  • basic administration and maintenance of data sets and cooperation in the development of evaluation tools.

What is our idea of a suitable candidate?

  • completed university education at the master’s level, ideally in the field of social sciences, science management, computer science, statistics, or a related field
  • experience with evaluation, strategic management in science, or data analysis
  • good knowledge of the system for evaluating scientific and research activities in the Czech Republic (Methodology 17+, prospectively Methodology 25+)
  • ability to navigate research data (e.g., RIV, WoS/Scopus, GAČR, TAČR, etc.)
  • knowledge of analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, R, Python, Access, SQL) is an advantage
  • excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team across the university
  • independence, planning skills, precision
  • active knowledge of English (minimum level B2).

Workload: full-time; project position – fixed-term until June 30, 2028, possible extension to be discussed

Expected start date: October 2025, or as agreed

Information about the selection process and selection criteria:

The selection process will take place in two rounds. In the first round, the submitted applications and their mandatory attachments will be assessed. In the second round, selected candidates will be invited for a personal interview. They will be asked to present their experience and motivation in relation to the position offered to the members of the selection committee. All candidates will be informed of the results no later than 10 days after the end of the selection process.
