The Dean of the Faculty of Science of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (the contracting authority) announces a selection procedure to fill two positions:

Researcher

  • (1x Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Architecture Development and Database Technologies)

  • (1x Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Search Technologies and AI Automation)

The positions are announced within a project carried out in cooperation with Databig s.r.o., where the work will also be performed.

Job Description / Responsibilities – Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Architecture Development and Database Technologies

  • Designs and implements a new MVCO (Model-View-Controller-Object) architecture for an e-commerce solution
  • Develops core architectural components, including an object management system
  • Defines and implements interfaces for communication between components
  • Designs and implements a modular architecture to enable easier system extensibility
  • Ensures data migration from the existing technology to a modern PostgreSQL database
  • Designs and implements effective database indexing strategies
  • Creates automated tests to ensure data integrity during migration
  • Develops and documents the architecture for future expansion
  • Implements a version control and code management system
  • Cooperates with academic staff to ensure knowledge transfer
  • Provides support to the development team in adopting the new architecture

Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of information system architecture and design patterns
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex database schemas
  • Knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge of MVCO architecture principles and modular systems
  • Ability to analyze and optimize database performance
  • Experience with migration of complex database systems

Educational Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional knowledge of information system design and architecture principles
  • Practical experience in developing and implementing database solutions
  • Experience with software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of modern development tools and version control systems
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Language skills: English at the level of reading professional literature and documentation

Additional Information:

  • Salary: up to CZK 49,500 per month, depending on the agreed workload
  • Workload: 50% to 100% (by agreement)
  • Duration: fixed term of 24 months, expected start 05/2026

  • Implements and optimizes advanced search using Elastic Search technology
  • Designs and develops algorithms for efficient search within an e-commerce product catalog
  • Analyzes search result relevance and optimizes performance
  • Implements tools for development automation using artificial intelligence
  • Develops solutions for AI-based code and documentation generation
  • Designs and implements a code autodocumentation system
  • Creates tools for automated code testing and validation
  • Implements monitoring and debugging tools to improve the development process
  • Integrates AI assistants into the development environment
  • Cooperates with academic staff to ensure knowledge transfer
  • Creates and maintains system and process documentation
  • Trains the development team in the use of new tools and technologies

Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Elastic Search technology and search algorithms
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning principles
  • Experience in developing programming automation tools
  • Ability to work with code and documentation generation tools
  • Experience integrating AI tools into the development process
  • Strong analytical thinking and an innovative approach to problem-solving

  • Professional knowledge of search technologies and algorithms
  • Knowledge of modern AI tools and their application in software development
  • Experience in optimizing search systems
  • Ability to monitor and implement the latest trends in AI and search technologies

Information on the Selection Procedure and Selection Criteria

The selection procedure will take place in two rounds. In the first round, submitted applications and required attachments will be assessed. In the second round, selected candidates will be invited for a personal interview. They will be asked to present their previous experience and motivation in relation to the offered position before the selection committee. All candidates will be informed of the outcome no later than 30 days after the completion of the selection procedure.
