The Dean of the Faculty of Science of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (the contracting authority) announces a selection procedure to fill two positions:

Researcher

  • 1× Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Architecture and Database Technologies Development

  • 1× Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Search Technologies and AI Automation

The positions are announced within a project implemented in cooperation with Databig s.r.o., where the work will also be performed.

Job Description / Responsibilities — Knowledge Transfer Assistant for Architecture and Database Technologies Development

  • Design and implementation of a new MVCO architecture for an e-shop solution
  • Creation of core architectural components, including an object management system
  • Definition and implementation of interfaces for communication between components
  • Design of a modular architecture with an emphasis on extensibility
  • Data migration to the modern PostgreSQL database platform
  • Designing efficient indexing strategies and database performance optimization
  • Creation of automated tests to verify data integrity during migration
  • Documentation of the architecture and system components
  • Implementation of code versioning and management tools
  • Cooperation with academic staff on knowledge transfer
  • Support for the development team in adopting the new architecture

Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of information system architecture and design patterns
  • Experience designing complex database schemas
  • Knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge of MVCO principles and modular architectures
  • Ability to analyze and optimize database performance
  • Experience with migration of complex database solutions

Education Requirements:

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Expertise in information system design and architecture
  • Practical experience in developing and implementing database solutions
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and version control systems
  • Ability for analytical and systematic thinking
  • English at a level enabling reading of technical literature and documentation

Additional Information:

  • Salary: up to CZK 49,500 gross, depending on workload

  • Workload: 50%–100% (as agreed)

  • Duration: fixed term of 24 months, expected start date January 1, 2026

  • Note: Conclusion of the employment contract is conditional on the approval of the project grant application funding this position.

  • Implementation and optimization of advanced search using Elastic Search
  • Design and development of search algorithms for a product catalog
  • Analysis of search result relevance and optimization
  • Implementation of AI tools for automating development processes
  • Creation of solutions for automatic code and documentation generation using AI
  • Design and implementation of code autodocumentation systems
  • Development of tools for automatic code testing and validation
  • Implementation of monitoring and debugging tools
  • Integration of AI assistants into the development environment
  • Cooperation with academic partners on knowledge transfer
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Training the development team in new AI and search technologies

Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Elastic Search and search algorithms
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning principles
  • Experience with tools for programming automation
  • Ability to work with code and documentation generators
  • Experience integrating AI tools into development processes
  • Analytical thinking and an innovative approach to problem-solving

Education Requirements:

  • University degree in computer science, AI, or a related field
  • Expertise in search technologies and algorithms
  • Knowledge of modern AI tools used in software development
  • Experience with optimization of search systems
  • Ability to follow trends in AI and search technologies
  • English at a level enabling reading of technical literature and documentation

Information on the Selection Procedure and Selection Criteria

The first round of the selection procedure will consist of an assessment of the submitted materials, which must be included with the application. The second round may include a personal interview with selected candidates. All applicants will be informed of the result no later than 30 days after the completion of the selection process.
