The Dean of the Faculty of Education at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem announces an external selection procedure for the position of an academic staff member at the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Education, UJEP.

1 position for an Assistant Professor
Job Description / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to teach and guarantee courses focused on Anglophone literature, supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses, and develop pedagogical, research, and publication activities, as well as potentially contribute to the development of international activities and projects.
Qualification Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field with a focus on English and American Studies. Ongoing or completed doctoral studies (Ph.D.), or initiation/completion of habilitation or professorial appointment procedures in the field of Anglophone literature.
Language requirements: English at C1+ level.
Workload:
100% of full-time working hours

Information on the Selection Procedure and Criteria:
The selection procedure will be conducted in person/online. In the first round, applicants will be assessed based on submitted documents. Selected candidates will subsequently be invited for an interview, during which they may be asked to provide references or additional information to verify the stated facts. The applicant will briefly present their professional background and outline their vision for working at the department. The selection will be based on the candidate’s academic qualifications, professional experience, creative activity, and the presented vision.
