Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Faculty of Environment, announces a selection procedure for the position of Researcher – Knowledge Transfer Assistant.
The position is established within the framework of the OP TAK TROG D project “Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Technology for the Removal of a Wide Spectrum of Organic Pollutants from Industrial Wastewater”, registration No. CZ.01.01.01/06/25_080/0009327.

Employment extent:
100% of the statutory working time
The employment contract will be concluded for a fixed term of two years. In the event of continued cooperation between UJEP and Zodpa s.r.o., a further extension of employment may be possible.
Expected start date:
08/2026 – fixed-term employment contract for two years
Place of work:
Faculty of Environment, UJEP in Ústí nad Labem
Salary:
According to the project budget – gross salary CZK 60,000/month
Requirements
- University degree at least at Master’s level in environmental engineering, chemical technology, materials engineering, energy engineering, process engineering, water management, water treatment, waste and circular economy, environmental technologies, or related technical disciplines.
- Maximum of 6 years since graduation (extended by the duration of parental leave) is a mandatory condition.
- Ph.D. studies are an advantage; commencement of doctoral studies during the project with a related topic is possible.
- Candidates may have limited work experience.
- Experience in analytical water chemistry.
- Ability to interpret analytical results.
- Knowledge of pollutants, especially water pollutants.
- Professional command of English.
- Experience with chemical technologies is an advantage.
- Experience with research projects and applied research is an advantage.
- Knowledge of circular economy principles is an advantage.
- Driving licence category B required, category C is an advantage.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work on the transfer of wastewater treatment technology for the removal of pharmaceuticals and other low-molecular pollutants to the company Zodpa s.r.o.
The work will involve advancing the technology readiness level from the current level 3 to level 7, including the construction of a demonstration unit, technology up-scaling, optimisation of individual process steps, documentation management, and other related research and innovation activities under the supervision of mentors (the original developers of the technology) from the Faculty of Environment UJEP and in cooperation with the technical team of Zodpa s.r.o.
A substantial part of the activities will take place at the Zodpa s.r.o. facility in Petřvald; therefore, frequent travel between Ústí nad Labem and Petřvald is expected. Occasional participation in international conferences and trade fairs, as well as other ad hoc business trips, is also anticipated.
